About Me

I am Bijaylaxmi Sahoo (Gamma). Atmospheric Science, and turned my passion into my profession. Since then, in real life, I keep on analyzing the weather conditions now and then. Time and place have never confined my craving for learning. I didn’t stop in the atmosphere. I wanted to explore the ocean as well. Experience in remote sensing during the master’s helped me to become an optical oceanographer.

Research work

Small sized sediments stay suspended on surface water and called susupended sediment. Suspended sediments absorb and scatter light in a different wavelength than that of water. Hence using the wavelengths we can quantify the concentration of suspended sediments from satellite images.

I have used MODIS ocean color images, and AD-QAA technique to find out the amount of scattering of suspended sediment.

I have used ANN technique to develop an algorithm for scattering and suspended sediment concentration. Then I have studied 20 years of suspended sediment using the developed algorithm
